U slucaju da ti je wlan karta sa atheros chipsetom instaliraj madwifi-tools paket pa pokusaj:
wlanconfig eth1 list ap

haj uradi ovo ali ne izostavljaj ništa, pa da pokupimo još koju informaciju (ovo iwconfig uradi dva puta - nije greška, bar kod mene potrebno je dva puta okinuti kada je u ad-hoc modu):

  1. sudo ifconfig eth0 10.0.0.1 up
  2. sudo ifconfig eth1 10.0.0.2 up
  3. ifconfig
  4. sudo iwconfig eth1 essid testna mode ad-hoc

ps:
u ovom tvom lspci -v nigdje ne vidjeh nešto nalik na wireless, ima jedan programčić sudo update-pciids da malo refreshaš hardware listu, osim ovo dvoje koje bi možda moglo biti

p.s. ja sam sa 7.04 kubuntu ishao na net i sa mrežom i sa wireless al nisam imao zvuka tamo a i screen rezulucija mi zezala, mislim zezalo mi je i na ovom mom 6.06 al sam uspio napravit to…

a debian mi se ne svidja jer je gnome…
imam i ubuntu 7.04 i 6.06 al vishe mi odgovara kde grafičko okruženje…
nekako mi je “domaći”, ljepši…

može ba KDE na debianu, ako koristiš DVD instalaciju samo prilikom boot-a kucaj tasks=“kde-desktop, standard” i instaliraćeš KDE, i biće default

a imaš i KDE CD edition, za koju sam ti dao link, (preporučujem ti Debian jer imaju skoro sve CPU arhitekture, a ovaj debian 4.0 je relativno nov, noviji software od 6.06, AFAIK)

btw kako si nagurao 7.04 na PPC?

hmm, eto sad je zadao IP i na eth0, haj probaj:

sudo ifconfig eth1 up
sudo iwlist eth1 scan

imaš li nekog jarana sa laptopom pa kad ti napraviš mrežu da te on proba skenirati, a za LAN to vala možeš naći bar neki Desktop pa da se probate pingati

za wireless ad-hoc (per2peer je samo ime mreže, možeš staviti šta hoćeš, ali ako ti je ‘moja mreža’ onda moraš staviti pod dvostruke navodnike “moje mreza” - tj. ako imas spaceova u imenu mreze):

sudo iwconfig eth1 essid peer2peer mode ad-hoc sudo iwconfig eth1 essid peer2peer mode ad-hoc

da to je taj link

nije da te forsiram da uzmeš debian, (inače volio bih da ti ubuntu/kubuntu radi), nego samo zato što debian ima bolju podršku za PPC od svih ostalih distro (AFAIK), a šteta je neiskoristiti taj laptop

Eh “HotSpot_BHTelecom” je samo jedna od wireless mreza koje se moze hvatat iz stana, al kako sad da biram koju da udje?

ono da vidim koje mreze su mi pritupachne i da biram?

pa jarane, sudo iwlist eth1 scan (ponoviš nekoliko puta dok se malo ne uhaviza), i onda kad vidiš koja ti paše,
skucaš
sudo iwconfig eth1 essid “uhavizana mreza” mode managed
pa poslije toga opališ jednom iwconfig da vidiš jesi li nakačen, pa
sudo dhclient eth1

ps:
ovako radiš pod uslovom da nije kriptovana, da dobijaš IP DHCP-om i pod uslovom da se kačiš na AccesPoint (tj da nije ad-hoc - jedan na jedan)

ili statički
sudo iwconfig eth1 essid “uhavizana mreza” mode managed
sudo ifconfig eth1 192.168.0.2 up (ti staviš odgovoarjuću IP)
sudo route add default gw 192.168.0.1 (ti staviš odgovoarjuću IP)
