sve sam zavrsio…bilo je malo problema, ali rijeseno sve…

sad jedino sto nece xorg da skonta refresh rate i hor. sync…koju god da stavim prijavljuje gresku da je out of place…

Je li sigurno geforce u pitanju? Po logu vidim da je TNT2. Probaj sa dubinom (depth) da nije 24 vec 16.

Ako opet ne moze (i sa 16 depth), pokusaj umjesto “nvidia” koristiti “nv” drajver (koji dodje uz X-e). Ako proradi, ne gine ti update na novije oficijelne.

Ne znam sta su radili za 7.x ali prethodne verzije, nv je ukljucivao sve nvidijine karte.

Zato sto ti je na slacku 6.x :stuck_out_tongue: Hm… izgleda da je ili X ekipa totalno izbacila nv iz 7.x serije ili se gentoo-ovci prave pametni. Na kraju krajeva, ti ne napisah kako dodje do trenutnog drajvera kojeg koristis (i ako moze verzija).

Naravno da nisu izbacili nv, ali sa Xorg 7.x driveri dolaze u zasebnim paketima (barem u distribucijama koje koriste neku vrstu paketa, ne znam za Gentoo). Znači probaj nešto u stilu “emerge nv” šta ti ja znam :smiley: dajte gentoovci javite se.

emerge nv probo takodje prije neg se obratio za pomoc:

jedino jos sumnjam u X…mozda se nije ispravno kompajliro…???..stvarno neznam, ovo mi je prvi susret sa Gentoo.m i distribucijama koje kompajliraju sve iz source.a…do sad sam slack koristio vec 2 godine i nisam se brinuo o nicemu sem dependencies…

Upravo sam zato i pitao, jer si na ovaj nacin povukao zadnju verziju. Koliko znam, nvidia ima politiku da izbacuje drajvere za starije kartice nakon nekog vremena (kao sto je bio slucaj sa TNT-om). Rjesenje je da pogledas na njihovom sajtu stanje za TNT2 i (ili) da pokusas skinuti neku stariju verziju koja sigurno sadrzi TNT2 drajvere.

Naravno da nisu izbacili nv

Jedino jos ostaje da sa find potrazis nv_drv.o (najcesce u /usr/X11/lib/modules/drivers). Ako ne postoji, pogledaj da li imaju ikakvi, npr. riva128.o ili mga_drv.o (i ako ne, znaci da nisi skinuo paket sa drajverima).

Preporuka je da ionako skines par starijih verzija i probas, jer se meni desilo da zadnja serija TNT drajvera nije radila uopce.

TNT2 neradi sa zadnjim verzijama…zadnja koja radi kod mene je NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7167-pkg1.run…ali neradi sa novijim kernelom od 2.6.15.6…

ovo sam sumnjao i ja da je moguce problem, al reko mozda nije…

probacu jos par opcija pa se javim :slight_smile:

eh ovako…nv driver nije bio ni instaliran…meni je smaklo sa uma da posto je xorg 7 modularan da se to moglo desiti…(navika da se instaliram sve odjednom)…

nakon instalacije nv modula digne x bez problema i sve radi super…(uz pomoco crazy_m.a)

znaci da je problem u nvidia driverima…njih jos nisam uspio napravit…uglavnom proguglacu malo detaljnije u sljedecih par dana pa se javim ako nadjem rijesenje…

evo me na gentoo…i fakat imam osjecaj da letim kad uporedim ovo sa slack.om,
malo izmjene u configuracijskim filovima i njihov smjestaj, ali nista sto mi se ne svidja…
jos mi se svidja sto nema potrebe za instalacijom svega i svacega a pola ne koristit…

nije flame (za slack), nego bar za moju mashinu ovo je raj…jos pogotov je dobro sto ima na bihnet-freezone sve…
