Dualna grafika kod Dell-a

Uff, otkad ja nisam teme zapoceo.
Ok, nabavio sam dell inspiron n7110m dodje intel i nvidia grafa na njemu. Pitam se da li ima dovoljno podrske za takvo nesto na linuxu. Da li ja mogu jednostavno prebacivati sa jedne na drugu po potrebi ili moram svaki put xorg otvarati? Nisam jos stavio nikakav sistem na njega.

To je Nvidia Optimus tehnologija i kako sam prije citao nema oficialni port za GNU/Linux niti planiraju napraviti. Ipak postoje nezavisni projekti, kao Bumblebee i Snail, koji navodno omogucavaju switching. Sad ne znam kolko je to sve stabilno i updateovano.

Onda da stavim 2 konfiguracije i samo ih saltam ako mi zatreba nvidia? Vecinom cu ga koristiti na intel-u vjerojatno.

Ja bih probao sa Bubmlebee gdje se nVidia graficka ukljucuje samo kada bude potrebe. Tako je nVidia eficijentnija od processora za dekodiranje h264 videa pa je bolje pustiti nju da to odradi sa MPlayer, mplayer2, vlc. Ako se ovi driveri pokazu stabilni onda bi to po meni bilo najbolje rjesenje.

Sad ako ces vecinom koristiti za zahtjevniju grafiku onda bih presao samo na nVidiu. Drugacije ako ti ne treba zahtjevna grafika bolje ostaviti samo Intel grafku u ustedit na bateriji.

Zapravo i jesam mislio odmah ostaviti samo intel zbog stednje.

Pokusat cu ja danas uraditi konfiguraciju pa cu javiti kako je proslo.

Instalirao sam debian i pokusao prvo konfigurirati bumblebee sto mi naravno nije uspjelo. Uradio sam kasnije blacklist nouveau drivera i ostavio na intel grafi, mada mi i dalje nesto zdere bateriju(vjerojatno proc). Neka ove teme pa ako naletim na neke fixeve napisem ovdje. Ako netko ima prijedloga onda slobodno.

Pa gdje je zapeo bumblebee? Mozda je sta lahko rjesivo.

Nisam se stigao puno zezati. Pokusat cu ponovno kad budem vremena imao. Znam samo da mi je ucitao gnome classic nakon instalacije.

Ja imam takav laptop, samo je kombinacija dva ati-a, i mogu saltati grafike iz catalyst-a. Sto se tice drivera, skidao sam za onu “jacu” jer za procesor koji ja imam (a ima grafiku u sebi) jos nema drivera. Ne znam da li mogu jos nekako pomoci, meni radi kako treba.

Pokusao sam instalirati nvidia binary pa je nesto crklo u sred akcije, dobio crni ekran i nisam mogao saltati izmedju tty. Mislim da sam napravio neki pogresan korak. Stavit cu testnu distro na jednu particiju pa cu tu malo kemijat.

Ok momci, bit ce vam drago cuti da sam uspio omoguciti normalan rad nvidia i intel graficke ledja od ledja preko bumblebee projekta. Distro je Debian Wheezy i pratio sam upute ovdje: https://wiki.debian.org/Bumblebee#Installation
